What fields can Social Work Department graduates work in?

Department graduates can work as social workers in public institutions, local governments, hospitals, schools, judicial institutions, and non-governmental organizations. They can also work in service areas targeting immigrants, refugees, children, the elderly, people with disabilities, and disadvantaged groups.

In which year is the practical (internship) training conducted?

Practical training is conducted in the final year of the program, and students gain field experience in public institutions and non-governmental organizations.

Is supervision provided during the practical training process?

Yes. Students work under the coordination of the institutional supervisor and the department's practical training coordinator during the practical training period.

How does the advisory system work?

Each student is assigned an academic advisor for the duration of their studies; guidance is provided on course selection, academic progress, and the internship training process. In addition, career counseling is provided to support students' professional orientation, covering areas of work, internship opportunities, and post-graduation career planning.

Are there elective course opportunities in the department?

Yes. Students have the opportunity to specialize in specific areas by taking departmental elective courses in different social service fields according to their interests. In addition, students can enrich their interests and competencies with different disciplines by choosing from university elective courses offered throughout the university.

Are there any double major (ÇAP) and minor opportunities in the department?

Social Work Department students can apply for double major (ÇAP) and minor programs within the framework of the university's relevant regulations and if they meet the specified conditions.
