The “Strategy Document for Roma Citizens: Phase II – Provincial Action Plan (2026–2030) Preparation Workshop,” organized under the auspices of the Yalova Governor’s Office and in collaboration with the Yalova Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services, was held on June 4, 2026, at the Yalova Nursing Home, Elderly Care, and Rehabilitation Center. Our department’s faculty members actively participated in the workshop, which saw broad participation from various public institutions, civil society organizations, and local government representatives.
The program, which began with opening remarks by Provincial Director Arif Laçin and Deputy Provincial Director Sümeyye Yanık Doğan, established the roadmap for the action plan at the local level. The sessions, conducted in two sessions, featured six thematic working groups: Education, Employment, Health, Housing, Social Services and Social Assistance, and General Policies.
Our department’s faculty members served as moderators for these thematic tables, ensuring that discussions were conducted on scientific and professional grounds. Our academics made significant academic contributions to the development of strategies aimed at enhancing the social integration and well-being of our Roma citizens. Following the compilation of the table outcomes and the closing session, the workshop was successfully concluded.
