On December 17, 2025, between 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., we welcomed the children living in the homes affiliated with the Children’s Homes Coordination Center, which is under the Yalova Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services, to our university. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatma Kahraman Güloğlu provided an introductory briefing to the children and the social workers accompanying them about university education and campus life, followed by a discussion. Our Dean, Prof. Dr. Hasan Kaplan, along with Dr. Burak Küsmez, an Assistant Professor in our department, were visited. Following this, the group attended a graduate-level course taught by Prof. Dr. Elif Yüksel Oktay, the Chair of the Department of Labor Economics at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. In the next step, we visited the Faculty of Engineering, where, accompanied by our Dean, Prof. Dr. Jülide Hızal Kaya, and along with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatma Kahraman Güloğlu, Research Assistant Dr. Abdurrahman Sefa Ulu, and Research Assistant Rümeysa Çetinkaya, we toured the engineering faculty laboratories one by one and received information from our faculty members. Our students gained a unique experience regarding university education and campus life. We are proud and happy to have hosted them at our university.
