Yalova University participated at the department chair level in the 2nd Council on Aging, held in Ankara on April 21–22, 2026, under the patronage of the Presidency and coordinated by the Ministry of Family and Social Services of the Republic of Turkey.
Organized in line with the “2026–2035 Family and Population Decade” vision, the Council brought together representatives from the public sector, academia, and civil society with the aim of improving the quality of life for older adults, developing rights-based aging policies, and establishing sustainable social service models.
As part of the thematic sessions held during the Council, Prof. Dr. Harun Ceylan, representing the Department of Social Work at Yalova University, participated in the session titled “Population, Family, and Aging.” The session addressed topics such as demographic transformation, changes in family structure, the holistic approach to aging policies, and the sustainability of social services.
Our university continues to contribute academically to studies in the field of aging.
